Doğu Karadeniz İhracatçılar Birliği Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Saffet Kalyoncu, Türk çayının ihracatındaki artışı değerlendirdi. Kalyoncu, Türkiye’nin 7 ayda 114 ülke, özerk ve serbest bölgeye çay ihraç ettiğini ve bu dönemde 3 bin 126 ton çayın 14 milyon 887 bin 221 dolar gelir sağladığını belirtti.
En yüksek dış satımın 5 milyon 248 bin 461 dolarla Belçika’ya yapıldığını söyleyen Kalyoncu, onu 2 milyon 201 bin 913 dolarla Birleşik Krallık ve 1 milyon 125 bin 902 dolarla Almanya’nın takip ettiğini açıkladı. Türk çayının ihracatında ülke çeşitliliğinin arttığını vurgulayan Kalyoncu, Dubai, Moritanya, Ekvator Ginesi, Tunus, Mısır, Güney Sudan, Küba, Burundi, Orta Afrika Cumhuriyeti, Namibya, Sao Tome ve Principe, Venezuela, Cibuti, Kolombiya, Kamboçya ve Slovenya gibi ülkelere de çay ihracatı yapıldığını belirtti.
Rize’nin Türk çayı ihracatında önemli bir paya sahip olduğunu ifade eden Kalyoncu, Rize’den sadece 7 ayda 1983 ton çayın 24 ülkeye ihraç edilerek 6 milyon 940 bin 999 dolar gelir elde edildiğini söyledi. Kalyoncu, Türk çayı ihracatından beklentilerin yüksek olduğunu ve yılın daha da iyi ihracat rakamlarıyla tamamlanacağına inandıklarını belirtti.
